Skilled. Dynamic. Compassionate.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over three decades of experience in mental health and clinical experience. I draw from 63 years of my own life experience as a gay man, educational (MSW from the University of Connecticut) and practical knowledge. Thus I understand what it’s like to be marginalized, and feel different like you don’t belong. I use a compassionate, non- judgmental, understanding, strength based approach by acknowledging and welcoming your whole person, body, mind, and spirit.

I use a variety of modalities (e.g. Expressive Arts therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Somatic Psychotherapy, and Mindfulness) and together we will develop a plan that is best for you. I use the expressive arts as a way to access underlying themes and issues in your life, as well one can learn resources to help one relax and cope. I use body and somatic therapy, approaches to help with mind and body connection, and learning about how we hold experiences, sometimes traumatic, in our bodies. When we learn body focused resources to cope, we can live more comfortably in our lives. By coming to an understanding of ourselves, what we need, and want; you can begin to find meaning, and purpose in your life.

“When one can integrate the dark and the light, the happy and sad, the intense and the gentle, the serious and the playful, the evil and the good, and all the in-between. The in-between can be so expansive, so spacious.”
